How I Spent My Summer Vacation
Do you remember when you were a kid? Summer was over, school had just started and your teacher had you write an essay on “How I spent my summer vacation.” Here I am, years later (although I won’t say how many), and I am still writing essays. My teachers would be proud of me.
But think about how you will spend your time this summer. Will you spend it simply working, no break, no renewal, no revival of your spirit? Will you spend it away from church? Away from God?
It doesn’t matter what part of the state, country or world you spend it in, but don’t spend it away from God! Use the summer to recharge your spiritual life. When you are on vacation go to another church and get your spiritual batteries recharged, gather some ideas to try out at PBC, see how others are changing lives in their “neck of the woods.”
Ephesians 4:23 holds the answer for “how you should spend your summer vacation”. It says, “and be renewed in the spirit of your mind.” My prayer for you this summer is that you take time to walk the beach, climb the mountains, admire the flowers, enjoy God’s creation, work hard and take time to rest – and RENEW THE SPIRIT OF YOUR MIND! Don’t forget to get those summer essays in – How did you spend your summer vacation?
